2025-2026 School Year

Welcome

We are thrilled to have you join our community, where passion for ballet meets discipline and grace. To ensure a smooth and enriching experience, please review and adhere to the guidelines outlined below.

Student Class Code

  1. Arrival:

    • Arrive 10 minutes before class to prepare and warm up.

    • Wait quietly and gracefully in the designated area until the instructor invites you in.

    • Upon entering, greet the instructor with a ballet curtsy.

  2. During Class:

    • Focus intently on the instructor’s directions and avoid unnecessary conversations.

    • Stand behind the instructor when demonstrations are performed to observe and learn.

    • Avoid sitting, leaning on the barre, or leaving the studio without permission.

    • If you need to use the restroom or get water, seek approval first.

    • If you are feeling unwell or have any physical condition, inform the instructor immediately to prevent injuries.

Student Dress Code

  1. Attire:

    • Adhere strictly to the dress code:

      • Wear the designated leotard for your level, along with specified tights and shoes.

      • Always cover up with a skirt or pants when outside the studio.

      • Keep your attire clean and well-maintained.

    • During class, no additional clothing over your leotard is permitted. This ensures proper posture and correction visibility for safe and effective training.

  2. Hair:

    • Your hairstyle is a reflection of your discipline.

    • Hair must be tied up in a neat bun before entering the studio.

    • If you are unsure how to create a proper bun, please refer to online tutorials.

    • For safety and movement precision, students with unkempt hair may be asked to sit out of class (first-day exceptions are made).

Studio Etiquette & Maintenance

  1. Observation Policy:

    • Parents are not permitted to observe classes through windows or doors.

    • Observation is only allowed during designated Observation Days.

    • This policy is in place to maintain students' concentration and class quality.

  2. Behavior in the Studio and Halls:

    • No yelling, running, or causing disturbances in the hallways.

    • Demonstrate grace and respect as a ballerina at all times.

    • Do not leave food, litter, or personal belongings unattended.

    • Maintaining cleanliness and order reflects the elegance of a ballerina.

Make-Up Classes Policy

Victoria Ballet does not offer make-up classes for regular absences to maintain the flow and quality of instruction for all students.

  • Make-up classes will only be scheduled for studio closures due to national holidays or planned breaks.

  • For these scheduled make-up sessions, you will be informed ahead of time.

Important Notices:

  • Attendance: Consistency is key. Absences disrupt not only individual progress but also the dynamics of the class.

  • Communication: If you will be late or absent, please notify the studio in advance.

  • Payments and Fees: Tuition is non-refundable, and payment must be made as per the outlined schedule. Late fees may apply for overdue payments.

  • Studio Closures: Victoria Ballet aligns its schedule with the Palo Alto School District calendar for holiday breaks and vacations. You will be notified of any changes.
